Aurelio Bruni is an appreciated painter and an eclectic musician originally from Ficulle and resident here.
Graduated in scenography at the art institute of Spoleto, from the age of 19 he began to paint systematically in oil, practically self-taught as this technique was not practiced in school. At the same time he works as a musician, after the Trombone diploma obtained at the "F. Morlacchi" Conservatory of Music in Perugia. Over time the passion for painting prevails in him and with a certain continuity he organizes and participates in collective and personal exhibitions which are still numerous and increasingly projected. beyond national borders.
Bruni's painting moves from surrealist roots but over time moves towards a lyrical and symbolic intimism, supported by a politeness of the sign and a refined preciousness and value of the detail that make it particularly appreciated by critics. In his works, animated and inanimate objects acquire equal dignity and the almost hyperrealistic and mannerist rendering of their external "matter" is only the curtain behind which one can see, on a deeper reading, the essence of their soul. Bruni's stylistic virtuosity is such as to be able to describe in detail the material consistency of the elements depicted, even suggesting their tactile-visual sensations.
Multifaceted, refined and sensitive, solitary, reflective and fruitful is the soul of Aurelio Bruni, nourished by the splendour of art and the harmony of music. With the courage of coherence, the artist pursues his own expressive research to offer a possible interpretation of reality, thus suggesting a meaning to be given to this multifaceted and troubled present.
Among the other distinctive features of Aurelio Bruni the great works also stand out, including the pictorial interpretation of the salient episodes from the life of Santa Chiara, in the Cloister in the Papal Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli in Assisi, dedicated to her. The work consists of 7 splendid lunettes, each of which is 360X150cm in size, in oil on canvas. In them stands out, in addition to the artist's skill, also his original passion for the choice of family members and people of Ficulle to give a face to the portrayed characters.
Part of Aurelio Bruni's rich pictorial production can be visited in Ficulle, in the artist's private exhibition hall, by booking via email at info@aureliobruni.com.
